Clay & Paint policies
Brush Strokes Pottery is committed to safety. We use only paints and glazes that are certified non-toxic. At this time we do not allow outside glazes or clay bodies in the studio due to compatibility precautions.
Clay used in our studio is low fire earthenware clay. If glazed and fired in the kiln it is water resistant and food safe however we recommend caution against dishwashers and microwaves.
Note clay is a porous substance and even the most skilled artists experience cracks. Cracks can be caused by a number of reasons. Unfortunately, cracks cannot be fixed and must be remade.
Paint: Ceramic glaze used in workshops is non toxic and can we washed from hands and clothes.
Acrylic paints used are non toxic but could STAIN clothing. We recommend using extra caution when painting with these paints. We will notify attendees when working with the different paints.
What if I’m going to be late (for a workshop)?
Please call or text to give us a heads up if you are going to be late. Arrivals more than 20 minutes after a class start time will not be seated. The workshop will have already begun and you will have missed valuable time needed to understand the project and complete in time. Therefore we ask that you please be on time!
